Teachers As National Park Rangers

Did you know that as a teacher you can become a national parks ranger for the summer. Imagine spending your summer in Yosemite, Glacier National, or the Grand Canyon without first going to get a degree in forestry.

Meet Patti Webber (Gateway K-8 Holsted, Florida) and Rose Ruby (Zelder Glaser Middle School in Miami, FL). They are Ranger Teachers this summer.

They are holding some of my students recycled art which connects Trickum students--Ramiza and Nikki--with these interesting people on the trip.

To find out more about being a teacher-ranger visit:

  1. Aimee--those artworks look like CD minibooks...are they??? They look beautiful. A few years ago I purchased a cool CD minibook or two at the NAEA artisan's gallery. It was either New York (2008) or New Orleans (2009). Could I have bought them from you???

Thanks for your facebook link to this blog--I will enjoy following you on your adventure. That boa skin (pelt?) is amazing. Oh--did you mean "threat" in your caption...'cause it says "treat"! I was confused at first 'til I realized there may be an "h" missing.

I am writing from a dream house on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay--not far from Baltimore! (We are here for a week, but I am ready to move in.) I hope to bring the family to Tir Na Nog for dinner some time this week. Must find some of those cool crab hats!
